The 360° First Touch Uni-Cube is a specialised football training system designed to accelerate player development through high-repetition drills. By enclosing the player within a “cube” of rebounding nets. THE CLIENT BUILT an effective PROTOTYPE but it was not portable and therefore, not easy to transport.
I was tasked with creating a conceptial visualisation of how the design could be enhanced to ensure portability and this easier transportation.
I designed the Mid-Joint Folding System whereby Each 3x3m perimeter unit folds and separates down into a portable 1.5m unit connected by Industrial Locking Elbow Hinges, connectors and spring-loaded locking joints that can be easily transported and moved to location. High-Tensile Square Aluminium Tubing Square tubing is used to prevent the hinges from twisting under the high tension of the net. An accompanying, transporter case is provided to store, transport and move the units easily.
